The video of our group was more than I expected. From this video, I learned how to introduce people and how I can create a video. In the mosque, I met a lot of people from other countries. I asked few of them if they like the mosque and I saw many reactions that made me happy. They made me happy because they learned about our religion. The first people, that I met, were from Japan. They could not speak English, so another woman from Japan helped us to translate their language to English. The second people, that I met, were from Mexico. The woman from Mexico said that she likes the mosque more than any place in Abu Dhabi. Also, we went to the library, and we saw many books that other people from other countries can translate from Arabic to their language. Finally, we showed many pictures that we took in the mosque.
The video, which I saw about the difference of eye colors, taught me that there was no difference between who had blue eyes or brown eyes. I was impressed by the teacher and her ideas. I saw that the teacher was the smartest teacher. Firstly she separated the students. She made two sides, one for blue eyed students and another two for brown eyed students. Then she said that students with blue eyes are smarter than students with brown eyes. Then she saw the reaction of these students. Then she did the opposite. She saw that there was no difference between them. I learned from this video that it doesn't matter what color eyes you have. one color isn't better than another.

Culture: the shared values, history, customs etc of a people.

Diversity: differences e.g. race, gender, economic status, religion etc.

Cultural diversity: a multicultural society where it is understood that each individual is different re. race, gender, economic status, religion, physical abilities etc. When this occurs we have social harmony i.e. peaceful co-existence of people from different backgrounds. In such a society there will be cross-cultural communication, where people from differing backgrounds can communicate and avoid conflicts and can even adopt aspects of other cultures i.e. acculturation. In this type of society there will be a widely-shared belief in human rights, basic freedoms which belong to all people regardless of colour, language, religion etc.

Bias: If you are biased it means you have an idea that someone or something is superior to another for no logical reason. It is similar to prejudice, e.g. racial prejudice in apartheid South Africa.

Culture shock: This is when you find aspects of another culture so different from your own.

Demographics: The study of the population and its component parts.

Discrimination: There was racial discrimination in apartheid South Africa. N.B. blue eyes v brown eyes.

Ethnic group: It's a group which shares similar race, religion, language, whatever.

Ethnocentricity: It's looking at the world from your own ethnic point of view; it implies that your ethnicity is superior.

Expatriate: Someone from one country living and often working in another; not a tourist, not a businessman on a short visit.
